The "Whiz-ard" That Is Dr. Oz

Is Dr. Oz Nuts? About Nuts That Is….

I just watched a video featuring Dr. Oz and he recommended almonds an hour before bed  They are sleep friendly and filled with magnesium – a muscle relaxant.  Great news, but what does that mean for me?  Should I continue with brazil nuts?  Eat the Scottish Oatmeal or go with pumpkin seed powder?  At this rate, I’m going to end up on TLC’s My 600 Pound Life, but at least I’ll be able to sleep.

Here is what my plan is, at least for the food induced coma that I’m hoping for:

-I’ll continue with eating 2-3 brazil nuts daily

-I’ll add the handful of almonds an hour before bed this week

-Next week, if I find I’m still not getting sleep, I’ll include the pumpkin seed powder mixed with apple sauce even though it will make me feel like a Gerber baby

Oatmeal is great for you, but not really my top choice as a bed time snack.  Scottish Oatmeal is not easy to find either.  I went to three different places and the closest I found was Irish Oatmeal.  I’m not sure if it’s as good for sleep even though, they are pretty close to each other, at least on the map. If all of the combined nuttiness that I’ve outlined above doesn’t help, I’ll try the almonds in the morning as a snack and add the oatmeal at night.

Hello and welcome to my blog. This started as a one year experiment to try to improve my health, turning to Dr. Oz for advice. One year became two and after that, the writing bug hit and writing about travel, lifestyle and my own musings became more fun. I'll return to the "Whiz-ard" when the feeling comes, but exploring other topics and getting to connect with new people and re-connect with old friends has been fun! Remember, any health advice you see here should be vetted with your family doctor. Any travel advice that I give though, should be followed! I am a marketing professional, working in media. This allows me to continue my obsession with all things TV and print and get paid for it. I'm an avid traveller, reader and shopper but make time for friends, family and volunteering so that I don't feel completely shallow.
