51 Weeks to Go!

Week one of my one year experiment is over – just 51 weeks to go.  I FINALLY slept for more than 6 hours last night (6.5 hours – not ideal, but, moving in the right direction).  I can’t say that I give all the credit to last night’s hibernation to Dr. Oz, the two brazil nuts packed with selenium that I now eat daily, my bordering on chilly room or the fact that I can turn my digital clock away from me and not end up in a panic.  I think I was just plain tired and maybe the excitement over watching The Bachelor last night with some friends overwhelmed me (kidding).  I hope that Dr. Oz isn’t going to tell me not to watch lowest common denominator TV – it’s one of my greatest joys.

I know a lot of people think that the road to good health can be expensive, so I’m going to give a weekly and monthly tally on what I have spent.  At the end of the month, I’ll provide a per day cost too.  This week, I spent $10.98 on two containers of Brazil Nuts.  Remember if you buy them, the goal isn’t to eat the entire tub, but just enough to get your RDA of selenium and one or two nuts can do this. 

Will I ever get 7 hours of sleep?  Is my left foot ever going to heal?  To be continued until Deccember 31st, 2014….

Hello and welcome to my blog. This started as a one year experiment to try to improve my health, turning to Dr. Oz for advice. One year became two and after that, the writing bug hit and writing about travel, lifestyle and my own musings became more fun. I'll return to the "Whiz-ard" when the feeling comes, but exploring other topics and getting to connect with new people and re-connect with old friends has been fun! This allows me to continue my obsession with all things TV and print and get paid for it. I'm an avid traveller, reader and shopper but make time for friends, family and volunteering so that I don't feel completely shallow.
